saddle bag question

I was given Gear sadle bags as a present and I was wondering do I just lay the straps that keep the bags together across the seat! Or is there a way to put the straps under the seat so that the bags are locked when I am away from the bike?

I put mine under the seat so they are secured to the bike better.

Just make sure you watch the muffler clearance

I've done both . Fit fine on my bike either way . And a bungee cord acrosse the top helps keep them from hitting the pipes if you happen to have any weight in them .

I strap mine over the seat and strap the bottoms to
the passenger peg bracket and it seems to work fine.

Ive always strapped mine under the seat on all the bikes Ive had that I used saddle bags with. Plus if u ride 2 up w/ saddlebags ur passenger will thank you too for not having to sit on a strap

My passengers never seem bothered by the strap .
