After reading this I just went to check my 4 year old HJC and YUCKO! Only the cheek pads unsnapped so I ended up using automotive foaming shampoo in a can and white lint free cloths. A lot of brown came out of the lining. The cheekpads got washed in the sink and are air drying.

We have them in Oz so I assumed they were universal. You guys might get the good stuff eventually.

The US is the porn capital of the world. Mess with us and we'll disconnect our servers from the Internet.

I'm a new rider and after about a month I noticed some pimples on my temples and decided it was my scorpion. Thanks for posting this, I'm going to clean it right now!

I have an Arai Astra. At someone's suggestion (may have read it here, don't recall) I just took to to the tub and filled it with warm water and hair shampoo.

I pressed into the pads to get the water and soap in there good, rubbed the soap into the liner really well and rinsed until there were no suds. I set it up with a small fan over night and the insides look almost new and smell great.

Next time I am definitely getting something with removable liners.

My Joe Rocket armor I took out the armor and threw it in the clothes washer, drip dry and it came out great, have only done this once so far (just got it a couple months ago) didn't seem to add any wear and tear to it, used gentle cycle and Purex liquid detergent.
