  • Katana rain cover

I was looking to get a weather cover for my Katana since she spends some of her days outside overnight (and during the day too). I want one that will fit under the Katana seat so I have it when I need it, so that rules out the high quality expensive covers because they are too big. The cheapy's fold up to a nice compact size, so I've settled on the following cover, but I am not sure if I should get a Large or X-Large. Anyone have any suggestions?

    The Katana's dimensions are: LENGTH 84.3" x WIDTH 29.7" x HEIGHT 47.0"

    The Large cover is: 84"L x 37"W (Front) x 49"H (Side)
    The X-Large cover is: 94"L x 37"W (Front) x 49"H (Side)

Do you think I can swing a Large cover on the Katana? I'd prefer a tight fitting cover, but I don't want to order the Large and have it not fit at all. Does anybody have experience with buying covers. Any other brands I should consider?

    Thanks in advance.

I got a "Gears" cover in large, and even that is pretty loose. Extra large would be way too much.

Except thats a big cruiser that is being shown in the pics....

I had a large cover for my Kat and it was too big.....Go with the large-- the cables help you adjust it tight at the bottom

I think I might just go with the large, and I'll have to buy from a reseller with a good exchange policy (just in case).

I got the universal bike cover, large size, from walmart for $20.

              Works well for me.

My large one from walmart ripped and was weather beaten in less than a year. I got a nice Nelson-Rigg one now. I never put it under the seat though so this was not a worry for me.

I'm not sure if "Gears" is a good name or not (probably not because I'm cheap) I got it from the bike show a few years back. It seems to be holding up well. In hindsight though, I would have bought a cover that you can put on right after a ride instead of waiting until it cools down.

Don't worry so much about one that fits under the seat . I mean , if you're away from home , and getting ready to go somewhere while it's raining , you'll be soaked by the time you fold it up & stuff it under the seat anyway . Aside from the fact that one thin enough to fit under the seat easily will be torn up FAST . Get you a good one for $40-$60 , and it'll last you a while .

I think you could modify this one to get it to fit really snug, I bet it would fit under the seat too.

So did I but I think mine might be a M and it fits under the seat.
