I just bought some Nelson-Rigg CL-950 bags for my '05 750 Kat, and so far I love them! They fit great, they don't move around, and they are big, but still look good on the bike.
There's a nice neoprene pad under each bag, so the paint should be just fine. They come on and off easily; pop the east up and undo two quick-release buckles and the whole rig comes off. If I wanted to, I could have mounted them over the seat, but they will be on WAY more than off, and it looks cleaner this way.

I'll post pics later, and I'll update the thread after I get some miles on them.
