I am looking to get a pair of boots. I currently ride with construction boots but I think I want to step up. The problem is I have wide feet and all the makers seem to just have standard widths.
Find a place near you where you can try them on!!!!
I went through several shipments back and forth...
Finally founds some that fit...the hassle was worth it...

I sized some Alpinestars SMX at the local dealer ($369 Cdn retail+ Tax=$425) then proceded to buy a gently used pair off ebay for $220 cdn including taxes and shipping. Actually ended up doing the same for my Leather pants, and my jacket lol.
I've heard raves about newenough, ebay is good to if you know your sizes and are patient for deals.
I'll say this though after wearing "proper" riding boots all season, it feels weird to be riding in anything else.

Yup... I rode in squidly hiking shoes for the first couple months of riding.. I was young and foolish.. but after buying a proper pair of riding boots my feet feel naked if I try wearing my shoes to head to the corner store.
I hafta admit tho... I do get funny looks when I wear my riding boots with my shorts and muscle shirt. Thank god my helmet hides my face!
got my nitro from www.gearupdirect.com fit was good i also have wide feet love the vents in them to keep the feet dry
it would not be any fun if it was easy! but does it have to be this much fun!!

I agree. I had to go to all of the stores here in Ottawa (OK so there's only 5 but still...) before finding a pair that fit properly. I ended up buying W2 Wind boots. You should be able to get good prices too at this time of year. Good luck.

Same boots I picked up last winter.
Only complaints about them after 7000kms....
1. stitching broke along the zipper... still works fine and it's covered by the velcro flap so it's not noticeable.
2. all the stitching on the top of the foot area came out... looks like crap but it didn't leave any holes... just decorative crap where the boot flexes.
Other than that they're comfy as hell! I think I paid $120cdn compared to $260cdn regular price.

Junior, you're supposed to wear the boots on your feet, and your feet should be on the pegs, not dragging like if they we're training wheels.... sheezz....
Actually mine still look pretty new even after 8,000 kms...and your right they are comfy compared to other boots I've tried. Maybe you got a pair from a bad batch
These are my boots, and they are very comfy for me. But defintely try as many pairs on as you can before buying.
