Flat sealing plug on left side in front of battery

Hi,

just a quick question. On the left hand side in front of the battery within the black over-boot is a flat three prong sealing plug that I believe plugs into something but I can not find it. Can anyone please tell me what plugs into it and where to trace the wire from?

It could be for the California version bike carb fans.

Thanks to steves for your suggestion but it was not that.

After going back to it today I discovered that it is the speed sensor. I had removed the clutch/chain cover and with it of course the speed sensor, put it to one side and did not think about that.

So there you go, stupid me. I suppose one you turn in circles without finding the solution, it is time to stop for the day and start again the next day.
