  • Speedometer reading too high??

So I just discovered that my speedometer reads about 15mph too high. It's says I'm doing 80 but I'm really only doing 65. Has anyone else ran into this problem. I have a 05 katana 600.

Most likely reason is you're not running standard sprockets.

That's kinda what I was thinking. I haven't checked the sprockets yet. Do you know how many teeth the stock sprockets have?

In my experience most bikes are off to begin with, Kats seem to be off by ~10%. So sounds like you might be a little high.

I thought the front sprocket is 15t? Rear is def 47 though.

Edit: front is definitely 15t according to gearingcommander.com
