how to change a head lightbulb

ohh it's not in the service manual i have a pre 1990 gsx750f

and just thought i would upgrade the headlight bulb
only i take off the power connector and there is the 3 prongs of the bulb
surrounded in a big rubber cover

how do i get it out ........ dont want to break anything

I've never done one of those but if you remove that big rubber cover there should a small wire clip that's holding the bulb in. Unless there is some major difference on the older bikes.

Pull the rubber cover off, lift the retaining clip, pull the bulb.
