Not being a fan if the square hl on my pre Kat I'd like to do a conversion. I'm interested in the fz600 dual round headlight conversion. I have no problem doing a little body work, esp since the bike is apart getting stripped and resprayed, im wondering how close in dimensions and mounting it is to the katana? Would I need the whole fz mount too? Or just the housing?

I have the dual FZ cowl on my 750.. making the plastic match up will be a trick.. the shape and style are very different. you will need the fz mount and will need to add (weld) an extra tab to the head stock for the fz to mount, the kat has one mounting tab the fz has 2. i added a second brace from the bottom of the mount to the frame to keep it from wobbling from side to side. I have a gsxr front end and the stock gsxr gauges and the fit is a bit funny.. it need to actually move out and up to make it work around the gauges but then the bar cut-outs in the cowl will be too far out.. if you had the gz gauges it might work better..
