My suggestion for a cheap radar detector? Don't get one...

+ 1, my boss has a valentine one, don't buy anything else. That thing blows my mind. It even detects cheap radar detectors? That's what he says and throws a "J" on the screen.

        1. Don't speed.
        2. If you must speed, learn how to do so properly: don't do 100+, when everyone else is doing 50 or 65.
        3. Not every LEO uses radar - some will eyeball you - game over.
        4. I have found that if you do get tagged speeding (reasonable speed, not ludicrous speed), own up - most LEO's I have encountered are extremely generous, and will give you an admonishment, instead of a ticket - provided you are respectful, and don't come off as an arse.

Escort Passport 8500 X50. If you can't pony up the $200+ for one, don't buy one. It would be the same as throwing your cash in the trash.
