Post Gen1 to Gen2 taillight

Is it hard to go from a 98 "stinger" taillight to a 03-06 taillight? I'm looking at possibly getting eBay fairings and all I can find is ones from 03-06 models. Would it just be plug and play kinda installation?

i did it and it was super easy... for me everything fit really nice and easy. also yea ull just have to rewire which should be easy. also alot of people said that the lock doesnt work but... i just used the lock from my regular tail on the newer one and it works good.
