Battery makes a BIG difference

My bike has had a slight "lean" stumble just off idle for quite some time now. After going through the carbs and putting a Factory Pro jet kit in it it was MUCH better, but still there at low RPM if I opened the throttle quickly. I figured it was still a touch lean but left the carbs alone. Fast forward to having to replace the battery last week and guess what? Stumble is GONE. The bike idles 150rpm HIGHER and it just feels smoother. Wow.

It truly is amazing what can be the remedy to a certain problem. Batteries getting towards the end of their life can certainly create some running issues.

Might be time to think about doing the ignition relay mod before this battery starts to wear out. Sounds like you just weren't getting a hot enough spark.

I am not familiar with this. What are the benefits and it is hard to do?

Generally, you think of this in connection with 1100s but the principle is the same and applies to anything.
