  • Help with taillight and rear turn signal lights

ok my buddy just got a pre-kat and he liked what i did with my tail as far as removing the fender and everything but instead of putting flush mounts on like i did he found a post where u take ur signals and mount them inside your taillight.

So my question is once he did that his tailight quit working but his brake lights still work and he doesnt know how to wire his signals back up...as far as which wires hook to what and i dont really want to take mine all the way back apart to findout...any ideas?

the first thing I did to my bike was put on flush mount signals, I stupidly cut both signals and break light wires that I could of disconnected. Ive never heard of putting the signals in the brake light, someone else can probably help you there.

Its not really so much as that i just need to know how to wire them back up..? Like which color wore goes to which...we didnt cut them the connectors are still on there...just dont know why every light on the bike works but the taillight...even the brake light works...do these bikes have fuses and if so where are they located..?

Let me make sure I understand...

You turn your key on, and no light at the tail. Turn signals work, press the brake and the light comes on in the center of the tail?.......

Um, replace the bulb. You have a blown filiment.

thanks...that exactally what it was...but what got me was i had 2 bulbs and they were both doing the same thing...so i broke out the wire tester and figured it out so i went and got another bulb and it fixed it...it just kinda tricked me because both bulbs were good b4 and i didnt think they were both blown.

              Glad it's working...

Just had the same issue recently myself.

LOL, I had a blown fuse and was getting ready to track down wires because my tail light worked in PARK but not run.

ok, I know this is an old topic... but I have had issues with my tail light... the PO removed the rear fender and put on custom turn signals. the problem is my tail light keeps blowing... I have put in several in past month or so... any ideas of what it could be?

Make sure you have the right resistance fuse and the proper wattage bulbs.
