  • changing Dash lights.

I wanted to change the bulbs in the dash to LED's . Red or maybe Blue. Has anyone done this ? I have not pulled the bulbs out yet , but i know how to do that kind of stuff.

Yes, it's definitely worth it. You have to take the dash assembly out of the housing to undo about 8 philips screws from behind. I usually have half my fairing off whenever I decide to do dash work. There are 3 nuts that you have to access to get the dash out but it's not too difficult.
Once the dash is apart the bulbs simply twist out of a printed circuit board. They then just pull out of the bulb housing you just twisted out. I got mine from http://www.superbrightleds.com/specs/74_t15.htm

It definately looks sweet as all get out..and if you've already got the dash apart, puttin on some illumiglo gauges just really sets off the deal !

Hey meanstreak did the lights make the temp go up on your gauge??? In 15 sec. the temp went from 73.9 to 74.1 no much but I just noticed it....

          Nice setup though....
Um I dont know any wise quotes so go read katansoldiers quote in his signature!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That thing has an external temp sensor that is mounted above the headlight. I guess the headlight heat made it go up a bit.

Do you have a pre 98 kat, or a +98? The dash is set up different between the 2.

Oh, Duh.... Yes, it has been a long day today.

Check with either Beek or Speede, I believe one of them did the dash mod, and they would be able to tell you exactly, or look under the body shop section, and check in there, I think they did a write up on it there.
