'98 Katana problems

Hello everyone, this is my first motorcycle.. '98 Katana 600. Bought it a few weeks ago for $2500. Ran fine until recently, won't start for the most part and when it does it'll die immediately. I've been able to pop start it but it'll die down when I go into first gear. Just changed the oil and the carbs are clean. Could it be the starter, fuel pump, spark plugs?

Carbs, petcock not feeding proper fuel, try running on prime, if not better, check the filter, good, it's your carbs..
