pre vs post camchain sprockets

Did the pre 600 have both these types of sprockets/cam chains, or did the post only come with the top picture type. I ordered a crankshaft from ebay and it has a different type sprocket on it even though it was said to be a pre crankshaft. My old crank is the second picture type, top one is the ebay crank.

1989 GSXF 750 Katana.
V&H supersport exhaust, ported head, GSXR cams
Michelin PR2's, RT fork springs and R6 shock

The pre did change in 96-97, the cam sprockets are different in those years.
