  • Pre Kat 600 idle mix

Working on this '97 Kat 600 and it only ran on choke. Went through the carbs and had to pull the mix screw plugs.. Mix screws were set from 2 & 1/8 turns to 0.75 turns from factory? I know common knowledge had my pre Kat 750 set at 2.5 turns contrary to the wiki which has approximate factory setting.. So same here??

Absolutely. Factory is all over the place. I've seen 1.75 but, that has changed to 2.5 I would perform a drop down adjustment once you get it running well enough. This would allow a more exact adjustment to the A/F mixture.

Thanks. I set them 2 & 1/8. Because at 2&1/2, my '95 Kat 750 didn't seem like it revved quickly enough like it was a tad rich (as if I could feel that). The drop down method seems like a lot of work to get back to "where everyone sets them". Is anyone here using a colortune?
