Cant get idle below 3k

Usual story, cleaned carbs in ultrasonic cleaner and put new rubber throughout. Now starts and runs fine but idle is way too high (at least it's stable!?)

Checked for vacuum leaks with starter fluid, no change

Set pilot screws to stock 1.625 turns, didn't help

What should my next port of call be?

Have you synced the carbs?

Visual sync only

Forgot to mention, exhausts on 1 and 2 were very hot, radiating heat just holding my hand near it whereas 3 and 4 were just warm

You need to sync by meter, visual is only to get the engine running for a proper sync.
