  • CDI box problems

can a CDI box cause your idle to not work properly? Will it not let the bike keep an idle after it heats up?

    not even a little bit.

What's the idle doing? A vacuum leak will make the idle bouncy, and is more noticeable when the bike warms up because the rubber gets softer and will let more air in. If it keeps bogging it's probably the carbs, although when coils crap out, they usually start acting up at operating temperature

I would check the coils before I'd even consider the CDI. The CDI does go bad, but it's happened like 5 times in human history. Everyone always blames it though. The CDI is rarely, almost never, the actual problem.
