    Just wanting to know the torque specs on this Please. Anyone?

    This is a once-a-month question.

    Good one to sticky, IMHO, since it's SO easy to strip the thing and need a new pan.

    Torque specs for 98+ Kat 750s (and 600s, too I believe):

    23 N-m....or 16.5 lb-ft.

        I doubt that it's come up here at KatRiders, but it's a regular at KP.

          Yup, same specs for the 98 - 05 Kat 600's.

          Other things to know about the drain plug:
          Stock plug has a magnet in it. Aftermarket plugs often don't. Lockhardt Phillips makes a special race version of the drain plug with the race-spec safety wire holes in the top of the bolt (to lock it into place). I sell a replacement valve system for the oil drain that means you never have to remove it again, but installation requires permanent modification of the oil pan (requires some cutting of the main barrier ridge that sits next to the oil drain bolt) -- once installed, you simply open a petcock to drain the oil.
