  • Motor mount confusion

I dont know why it took me so long, but today when installing a 1200s motor in my gs frame, I suddenly realized something odd. At least it is to me.

Why is the rear of the motor solid mounted in 2 spots and the front rubber mounted?

This goes against everything I have ever know in the drivetrain department. You always either solid mount the drivetrain or rubber mount the drivetrain. Never both. Doing both stresses the cases and usually tends to crack them

I could understand if there was only 1 rear mount, that would act like a pivot, and a front rubber mount. But by using a solid upper and lower at the rear, you effectively lock the part of the case from moving. Yet the front is allowed to flex? That just screams problems.

Someone please explain how this works without issues
