      Um, yes...yes it is...

99% of taxi cab crown vics do not have the police interceptor package, and not all of the cabs are crown vics...

Basic maintenance on time also helps, as they're not the ones paying for it so they dont stretch the intervals.
90% of motorcycle forum members do not have a service manual for their bike.

so ive researched a bit, clogged air filter would make mixture rich as not getting enough air so sparks would be black (my case) and you get poor mileage (my case) and would idle badly (my case) so i screwed in 1/4 of turn and now idling is ok.
but it runs totaly ok, ive pushed it today through all rpms no hesitation it just goes like hell.

other than these symptoms how can you tell your air filter is replacement ready?

          pics

bike is a bit more responsive, at full throttle i have a bit of brown smoke, what does that mean? rich?
oh and i reseted carbs to 2 1/4 turns out (service manual recomended for my carbs, and yes, i have a real manual )
will test consumption and post results here or http://katriders.com/vb/showthread.php?t=122084

ok air filter did a good job on increasing mileage... first measurements are 6,5L/100kms which is 1-1,3L less than before!
but as many told me is still bigger than it should be... idle is back to being bad 900-1200 fluctuations when warm. can this be related to a/f screw which we kinda forgot to clean?
yes, we are idiots i know

oh and what jetting do i have? carbs102 say stock 1.5-2.0 turns out and jet kit 2.25 tuns out.. ive setted it to 2 and 1/4 so that should be 2.25 right?

p.s. i copy pasted this from my consumption thread because its not being updated when i wrote this. whys that?

recleaned carbs, full dismantle, heavy cleaning, all passages and needles cleaned, visual sync, and carb 3 & 4 float was a bit too low-readjusted.
10s of prime, crank and fired like a boss!
way better idling, warmed it up, then gave it through all rpms in 2-3-4 gears, pulling like a boss!
todays measurements 6.4L/100km, i rode 80km before carbs done so its not really accurate measurement im expecting closer to 6L/100km
will keep measuring and writing everything down and keep you posted
              thanks all for help!
