  • Which GSXR 750 cams would work on a 98+ 750 kat?

Any one know the answer to the question above? Since, a kat is built off of a Gsxr the cams should be interchangeable. But what year GSXR 750 goes with a 98+ 750 kat?

I don't have answer, but as far as I'm aware, the 98+ Kat engines are a derrivative work off the pre-98 engines, and thus not a direct GSXR decendent (but rather more like a grandson). SpecialK probably has the definitive answer though...

Well the 98+ kats are forked rocker type heads. GSXR years from 1986-1989 *should* fit. In 1990 Suzuki went to a shim type valve set up so those cams won't work in a 98+ head without LOTS of modification to the head. Plus the shim type head was found to be much more fragile than the old forked rocker type head. Thus why Suzuki went back to that design.

I suppose it would have to be from a GSXR 750 and not an 1100?

          The 1100's will fit too.
