8000 RPM whats wrong?

Ok, my 88 katana on the highway will not got past 7-8000 rpm, at 175kmh, what might be wrong? Clutch? or just old, its got 69000 km.
I have done a tune up, the only thing i haven't done is clean the carbs.
Some people are telling it might bet the clutch.
Just wondering if some of u kat owners had similar problems.

What is it doing at 8000rpm's that it will not allow it to go further?

Is it stuttering out like the ignition is cutting out? Or does it just not have the power?

With a bike that old, and not knowing when the carbs have been cleaned last, you may want to look into getting that done.

I agree with Lou. Clean the carbs. I cant hurt.
