Either the oil filter end-cap wrench attachment, plus a 6" extension bar (to clear the headers) plus a long-handled 3/8" wrench,
OR
fallback: a chain wrench.
Bad comes to worse, you can also use a screwdriver through the filter itself, but it needs to go through the last 1/3rd of the filter (closest to the front end, away from the mounting flange) and if that fails, it will tear the filter to shreds in the process.

I've got a similar situation with my yoshi headers, the #2 and #3 headers don't split around the filter they just go straight down in front of it. I have to pull the headers to change the filter...yay. Are you running aftermarket headers? I can't figure out if you are saying it's too tight or if you can't get to it at all.'01 TL1000R
