Sprocket Size Help

I just got a new rear sprocket that has 42 teeth instead of 46. I want better gas milage on the free way. What would be a good size for the front sprocket? Also what else can i do to get better gas milage? Thanks

P.S. It's a 1989 Katana 600

Right now i get like 30 maybe 31. I just put it all back to stock. I already put in a 42 rear sprocket. What should i do to the back? I want to get the best mileage possible that i can.

pput a 19 tooth up front and keep off the gas bout the most you can do

If i do a 19 How slow will it be off the line? Really slow?

not really slow it just wont reach top end anytime in the next 5 mins

try a 17 front sprockets are cheap and easy way to alter gas mileage and top end

yeah 14 is stock and the make them from 11-18 or the 600

Ok but you think 17 wont be to big? Or would 16 be best?

Sinful I think is screwing with you. Nothing larger than a 16 will fit the OEM hole without cutting away metal. Stick to 15/45, get a good chain (not stretched out), lube it well, use cheap gas, and go easy on the throttle in top gear. Nose down, tucked, and you'll get the best mileage you probably can with that bike.

Yeah i heard that you cant go bigger than 15 without hitting on some bolt. so maybe a 16 will work. I already have a 42 in the rear. So can i fit a 16?

i dont think so cyber ive used 16 and 17 on my pre98 kats no problem and i believe mikem the crazy stunter guy formthe old kp baord used a 19 front because he rode so much highway then changed jsut the front when he wanted to stunt so unless suzuki changed something on the new tunas they should fit.
