Hi! I will be replacing my engine covers next week because I broke them and all the oil leaked out.

Now I have never done this before, So I was wondering If any precautions I need to take.

    Do I need the gaskets?
These are the pictures of my engine cover broken down. http://katriders.com/vb/showthread.php?t=102441

Is this process of changing engine cover hard or is it easy?

    Please guide me.

    Thank you.

Yes. Always replace the gaskets when you take the covers off. I am a little cheap and use a silicon gel that hardens after it is applied.

It's not hard. If you can turn an allen wrench, you can replace the covers.
    Nuff said.

if you use a sealer like Indian Head (messy, but love the stuff) only put it on ONE side or you will have major regrets next time you need to remove the cover. I suggest the cover side meself, and then stick the gasket to it. keeps things all nice and aligned for the install and, it's easier to scrape gasket from a cover than from the motor block.
