  • air/fuel screws setting ??

My 88 1100 kat air/fuel screws are set at 2 1/4 question is if i reset them at 2 1/2 does that make the bike run richer or leaner??? The bike is all stock ,air filter exhaust. everything.. It seems to be running a little rich
plugs a little black... put it backfires when gearing down which i thought was because it was running lean......any ideas cause i'm running out of ideas thanks again

Richer out leaner in. Are you sure the carbs don't need a good cleaning?
    Must read for carb tuners......http://www.factorypro.com/tech/tech_...m_engines.html

no i spent 800.00 bucks at a dealer for them to clean the carbs (rebuild)
they installed new needles and new floats, set them up and adjusted the valves.. I thought it was pricey . Don;t think i'll do that again since i've had the carbs off 3 or 4 times myself since then. I thought the work they did was sloppy ,idle /air misadjusted, air filter loose( no screws) exhaust leaked....(guess they missed that one) what a pile of bull@@###$

With the exhaust tighted up it runs alot better, good in town and great on the highway.

Just because you paid a dealer to to work, doesn't mean they did what you asked them, or did it right.
