How can I check to see if my spark plugs are actually sparkin'?

best way is to take off the tank, pull a plug wire, stick a looooong screwdriver inside the boot (touching the metal), hold the screwdriver shaft about a 1/8th inch from the frame and turn it over. You'll see a nice blue/white spark if it's sparking good.

The quick & dirty way (well not so dirty) that I have used is to just hook up an inductive timing light to each sparkplug lead one at a time & then crank it. If you get a flash then it's firing.
This will NOT tell you what condition the plug is in, etc., but you will know very quickly if it's sparking or not.

But to see if the PLUG is actually sparking.....pull the plug, put it back in the boot, touch the plug to ground, and turn it over...
