Forks post/pre specific?

So lets say hypothetically i let my friend drive my '05 kat at and he hits a curb doing probably 3mph cuz he lost his balace and turned abruptly trying to re-balance the bike and hypothetically the left fork is bent a little bit. When looking for front forks do i need to get them from a post 98 kat? the pre's look like the same thing but i just want to be safe.

Bent fork is on the otherside. I think
it looks like a streetfighter, but I'd rather have the plastics back on. Not to mention a new straight fork....

If your wanting to swap out the entire fork(s) straight up, you will need to stick with 03+ only.

Specifically what part of the fork is bent? The stanchion or the lower part?

You can just get the damaged part and put it all back together.

the "inner" tube is bent. but i want to just replace the whole fork
