  • Exhaust to manifold flanges question

Does anyone know where I can get some 2 piece flanges to bolt my "new" 4 to 1 header to the manifold.

Here's the deal: I got a 4 to 1 header for a Yosh pipe. Problem is there isn't any flanges ( the piece that holds the header to the manifols ) on the header. Does anyone have any ideas on how to work around this. I did a search and couldn't find anything.

    Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I would guess you use the stock ones...
The "flange" comes off once you take off the two
piece ...wait 600s are different then 750s.. odd
On the 750 there is a two piece pipe that goes on after the flange. then the flange pushes against that.. Are you sure the pipe is for a 600?
Maybe there is an "install" kit for the 600?

I got the header from Special K so I figured it would be for a 600. The stock ones cant come off unless I cut the pipe and then I still have no way to get them on the new header.

      Anybody?

        Yeah I noticed that..
The 600 pipe is way different than the 750.
Did you shoot Special K a PM?

i bought a jardine pipe that said it was for a 600 but put it on my 750. i did have to cut the mounting spacers off and make them smaller to make the bolts reach the header. that's the only thing i had to fix to make it work

              Try this link....

I think you are looking for part 3.

If that link doesn't work, go to www.bikenandit.com

              Then click on OEM parts.

              You will need to look up a 1993 - Suzuki - GSXR1100WP

Then look at the fische, and look at part number 3. They are cheap. What I did though, was just weld flanges on to hold them on.

                Lou:

Using that skematic, I basically need part 4 on to the exhaust pipe. The problem is that part 2 is welded on and I can't figure out how to get a part 4 on it.

What does part 3 do exactly?

                Thanks!

                  Ahhhhhhh...
ok, there are 2 types of flanges....

Part 3 holds on the solid flanges the type that that shows....

the ones that have the weld, I beleive are a 2 part flange....

Give me a minute, and I will try to find the link of the part you need.

                    hmmm.

I am having trouble finding the part.

Maybe I was thinking of that part number 3. My only suggestion would be to get a grinder then, and grind down the welds so you could put new flanges on, and then reweld. I know it sounds like a paint, and it would be. Next best thing would be to get another header. I managed to get one off ebay for hella cheap.

Another idea would be to cut the flanges, put them on, and weld them back together. But that may be more difficult seeings how they need to be a certain size to mount to the head.

I dunno. i checked quite a few shematics, and could not find 2 peice flanges. Maybe check more (ficcerent years, like 88 through 97 on bothe Gixxer 750 models, and katana models.
