I've done mine twice (yesterday was the last one as a matter of fact) and those rubber seals still are fine on my '99. No leaks today.

I reused mine when I did my valves with no issues, almost time to crack it open again in fact.

I can't answer that question, unfortunatly, After i switched to synthetic oil(3,500 miles) my valve cover gasket started to leak...so under factory warranty i had them replace that and those rubber plugs...and just for fun i asked how much it would cost to adjust the valves while they had the cover off...told me $45 so i had them do it. Figured it saved me an afternoon of work had i done it myself. Although at the next adjustment interval I'll be doing it myself.

I bought replacements for my last valve adjustments, and ended up not needing them (they are still sitting in the parts box should I need them in the future). I found the stock ones, if they didn't separate badly, would last many changes.

          Cheers
