rpms stay up

i have a 2000 kat750 just put it back on the road after awile & after i changed the oil & took it up the road i noticed that the rpms stayed up after i let off the trottle & even pulled in the clutch. the rpms stayed up until i stopped.i tried adjusting the idle screw but that was a bust. the bike still runs good but that issue concerns me. can anyone give me some help?

I had the same issue a while back. sprayed a entire bottle of carb cleaner through the carbs (air filter off of course) revving it right up and down the range. no probs after that. other than that maybe oil your throttle cable???? good luck.
