I had my 88 katana 600 running yesterday, but today it will not start up. It cranks and every once in awhile you can hear it start to send some fuel in the line, but it will not catch. I checked the petcock and fuel does come out when it is on prime so that does work. I also checked the fuses. What else can I check to get this bike running, so that I can get new tires for it tomorrow?

Shut off choke and try with throttle twisted

you still need to address the ignition wire issue!!
wet weather will likely cuse you to end up stranded or right back to the no start issueBlood , its in you to give! http://www.blood.ca/

I did cut the plug wires and rethreaded the plug connector back on. I do want to pick up some new wires and connectors (i dont think this is the proper word), but first i have to get my bike running again now that i seem to have some sort of charging/ battery issue with the bike.
