93 Kat 600 engine swap

So took my kat to the shop today.........engine is shot. Mechanic wont touch it. So i'm looking for another one. What engines will fit in a 93 kat 600? Any would i need to change the wiring harness also? I'm not trying to spend a whole lot cause I'm leaving for a year overseas. Just wanna get this kat up and running so I can enjoy what time I have left here.

I've read the post about it. Many times. I know that the 98+ engines will fit. I also know that I should use all the old parts if they're still good. But I was wondering about mounting it to the frame. Drilling new holes into the frame is something that I just don't have the facilities for.

why in the holy hell do you think you need to drill holes in the frame? Were'd that come from.

I apologize for sounding retarted, the mechanic said some of the holes wont match up and he'd have to make new ones. Got this info from 2 diff mechanics. Just wanted to be put at ease before i begin something that i might not be able to handle.

those 2 mechanics are tools, it's the SAME engine, one is black one is silver.
