  • how to bleed front brakes on 88 katana

    i am having trouble bleeding the front brakes, i did what the manual said but the brakes are still spongy, and the lever travels all the way to the handle bar... any ideas?

    You have an air bubble in the line somewhere.

    There are many good resources here on things you can try.

          Seriously though, I was having a hell of a time doing mine tonight, right up until the point I realized that I am in fact an idiot.

          Sat there trying to bleed the right caliper and got nothing, then realized that my left caliper is pushed by the right. Let's try bleeding the left side...10 minutes later I'm good to go. Just a thought, take a step back and see if you're missing something.

          Open bleed valve, squeeze brake lever, close bleed valve, let go of lever.

          Repeat for a few hours or until you realize what you're doing wrong.
