I built a glass bottle manometer last night, as that kind of design seems to have a lower chance of getting water in my carbs. Do i hook it up to the vaccum nipples that currently have the rubber covers (as opposed to lines) on them? Also, strangely enough, my kat is idling today, when i rode her to work, she ran great, and didn't even try to stall.
Yes, you hook them up to the vacuum nipples on the carbs (except for carb #4 -- that one should have had a line going to the petcock -- hook to that nipple where the hose goes).
Consider using automatic transmission fluid or motor oil as the liquid of choice -- if it gets sucked into the system, it'll burn off without issue. Yes, it's not as dense as water, so you'll need more height, but still the same idea applies...
As for the running great -- maybe the SeaFoam is working. Or maybe a blockage has literally moved
