bike clatters

I have a 2006 750 katana this is my 1st bike.Is the bike suppost to clatter
when starting or idoling.I went on you tube and listen to other katanas and they had the same clatter.are bikes suppost to be quiet?Please
any help needed.Thanks

lol... welcome to the wonders of the overhead 16valve engine.

they all sound like that

making sure the valves are properly adjusted can quiet it a bit, but overall... thats what it does
