  • RPM Hanging

When I rev my bike up as it comes down it sticks at 2k for a few seconds before going down. Any Ideas??

    dirty out of sync carbs.

Try this.... on the left side of your bike (I assume you have a post 98) I think its the upper bubble (hole in the fairing) theres a black screw thing connected to the carbs, BE CAREFUL and turn it a little. That will increase your idle RPM a little, that might fix it.

To be honest though, I had this problem. I tuned the valves, cleaned and synced the carbs, turned the AF screws to 2.5, and got new spark plugs. She runs like a dream now..... good luck.

another possibility, I just figured carbs are usually the culprit this time of season.

out of sync is a possibility. Dirty carbs have .00001 to do with an idle hang.

Ya it is a post. The idle was a bit low before and I turned it up a bit. Although the idle seems wierd at about 3k if u hold it is sounds like its missing so I thought plugs my self there. I will have to check for vac leaks..what is the best way to do that??

not on a 98+, it's tappet adjusters (screw type valves) it's very easy.

Vac. leak. I just went thru it. Air box boot was crooked on my inner carbs.
