    my old kat i sold to a buddy to re do just wont run right this season hear are the symptoms will crank but wont start a quick shot of starting fluid starts right up pings to 11 grand and starts to come down gets to 5 grand and pings back up to 11 drops again this time to 3 starts to slowly come down. give it some throttle nothing keeps coming down gets to about 1500 and then the only throttle control I have will bring it up to 3 grand at full throttle . ive ben scratching my head trying to figure this out but I am lost it has no throttle control and wont start with out starting fluid then when it dose it just pings . ive checked it has spark its getting gas fuel filter isn't clogged but I cant figure out the no throttle response it ran in nov 08 I rode it over to his house when I sold it to him but now it will run but you cant ride it . this is what he did to it if it helps figure it out he replaced the throttle cable clutch cable .he had the carbs cleaned at a shop (do you think they need to be re synced) and after the carbs came back we haven't ben able to get it run right any thing at this point will help he is thinking of selling if he cant get it running . thanks in advanced

    What about the freshness of the fuel or rust in the tank?

      the rust was cleared out the fule was bought the other day so i am stumped .i mean i think ive pinpointed it to the fule delivery system but i cant be 100% and i am not shure what to do to check each part of teh fule system

        Carb need to be cleaned again and sync'd.
        Pay special attention to idle jets, fishing line seems to be the key ~

              If your tank is rusty, clean carbs only last a few minutes.

                Dude , if it freakin hits redline when you start it , it's more than simply dirty carbs . Someone twiddled something they ought not have ..... Take carbs OFF , and look over EVRYTHING carefully . I'd think that perhaps somehow the synch screws got WAY outta whack , couple with possible an idle adjuster turned WAY up . And yes , they likely will need synched . And don't go back to that shop .
