So last night, I put on my new chain, 14 tooth front, and installed a shift kit. My chain was stretched really bad, so it's been sitting for nearly a week waiting for all my parts to come in. I got it all in, easy enough. Shortening the chain with a vise, a pin from a bicycle chain breaker, and a socket was a pain, though. Anyway, I got it all in, and done, and took it for a run at 11:00 at night to check it out. I idled in 6th to the edge of town, then dropped a few gears and started to speed up. Soon as it revved up a little bit, the headlight got brighter, and brighter, and then POP!!! went out. Switched to HI beams, and same thing happened within 2 secs. I parked the bike in anger, and got up early today to check it out. Running voltage is 18-19 volts. Ugh. So I'm going to check all the connections to the regulator after work, but if they're ok, it'll be a new regulator for me. Like I said, it's never ending......

I just ordered a whole alternator on ebay today, but thanks for the offer. I'm pissed because today is drag day and I won't be able to race again this week.
