What oil would you guys recomend for a pre 98 600? I live in Az and it will be around 100 degrees for the next 5 months. Thanks jfr

I would highly recommend a JASO-MA rated API-SF/SG rated 20w50 for southern AZ throughout the spring/summer/fall. That leaves you a small range of viable oils, including:

Castrol GPS 20w50
Castrol ACT/Evo-4 Stroke 20w50 (if still available -- there was some talk of them discontinuing this in a 20w50 weight).
Mobil 1 VTwin 20w50
Royal Purple CycleMax 20w50
Valvoline Motorcycle 20w50
Motul 3000 4T 20w50
Amsoil AMV Motorcycle Engine Oil 20W50

I'm sure there are others that I skipped... The most critical value for the oil in your environment is the HTHS value (higher is better), as long as it meets all the ratings I listed above. I would also recommend accelerating your oil change schedule to about every 2800 miles instead of the standard 3500.
