  • Adjusting the rear suspension on a 89 Kat.

Lots-o-questions. How do you adjust the preload? When I sit on the bike it squats too much. Is it the preload that needs to be adjsted? How do you tell what setting it is currently set on? Do you need special tools? Calgon take me away!!!!!!!

See the little ring at the bottom of your shock ? That's where you adjust it . You'll need a spanner wrench (that wierd thing in your toolkit) . It's actually pretty easy to figure out when you get down there with the tool and everything . Turning it can be tough though ...
I am a fluffy lil cuddly lovable bunny , dammit !

There are numbers below the spring where the indents are... most compressed position is 7 and least compressed is 1. If you have an owner's manual (not shop manual -- owner's manual) it will give you full instructions on how to adjust it.

          Good Luck!
