  • sprocket torque specs and # chain links

what are the torque specs for the front sprocket bolt and the back 5 for a 1996 kat 600? and the stock number of chain links.

I'm not sure what the pre-98 sprocket torque values are; the axle bolt should be in the 47 ft-lb range. I do know the stock chain is #530 Sealed O-Ring chain (OEM: RK 50MF0Z1), 118 Links and is interchangeable with the 98+ models.

      Front sprocket nut: 100-130 Nm, 72.5-94 ft-lbs (+loctite)
      Rear sprocket nuts: 48-72 Nm, 35-52 ft-lbs
Rear axle: with cotter pin: 50-80 Nm, 36-58 ft-lbs
      with self-locking nut: 55-88 Nm, 40-63.5 ft-lbs

      Pre98 600's have 112 links, the 750's have 118 though.

Thanks. Yeah mines a 118 after rolling the chain over. Thanks for the specs.
