Not really a right way...it's kinda the same question as break in method

But here's how I do it..

      1. Using WD-40, a brush, towels...get that chain spankin clean and shiney
      2. Ride (easy) for like 3-4 minutes to warm it up
      3. Apply desired chain lube

      Repeat after 600 miles

        sprocket removal
        loosening the tension
        breaking the chain

        I think...

Same here but I use Kerosene instead of WD-40. Bought a squirt bottle at the Dollar store and filled it with kerosene so I can easily spray it on the chain.

Suzuki suggests heavy motor oil for chain lube. Any feelings on that?

Always use a specific chain lube...like Motul or something to that nature...that's what they mean by 'heavy oil'..something that sticks.

I use a chain ' wax ' that comes in a spray.Clean the chain thourghly with degreaser or the like, ride around the block to warm chain, hold a towel behind the chain to stop overspray, spray per directions,i think it says ever 1k or so,I will check on the name when i get home,i think its Min wax?

I do a quick ride to warm the chain first. Throw the bike on the rear stand, then clean with Jet A (kerosene). I douse a rag with the stuff, wrap my hand with the rag in it around the chain and spin the rear wheel. use a clean rag to dry the chain, and use chain wax in a spray can to relube while spinning the rear wheel. Let it sit for awhile to make sure it doesn't sling off. I hit all 4 sides of the chain, and do this every 600 miles.

Kerosene and an acid brush to clean.
                    Casrol chain wax to lube.

And as a reminder, don't clean the chain with a rag when the bike is in gear and running. You may say who would be that stupid....but There was a post floating around last year with pics of someone (not a Katrider) who did and got his hand mangled quite badly.

I lube my chain after every 300-400 miles or so... of after a real long, hard day of riding. Right after I get back, while its still warm, just stick it up on the center stand, put a rag or towel under the chain so u dont get the spray all over the rims and tires. then just spray the links as you go along spinning the tire slowly, covering every link thoroughly.. then just let it sit and soak in, and ur all set.

Kerosene works well to clean it off too.

                        I use Bel-Ray chain lube.

I use a bit too much oil, so that the dirt flings off with it

Your supposed to do what with the chain????

Same thing here, Spray Chain wax on it after it has warmed up, center stand, bike in neutral (Not running), and spin the rear wheel while spraying. Let it sit for a bit, then off to ride!
