valve adj???

on a 96 gsx600f are the valve adjustable or do you have to use the shimm caps???thanks production date is 7/95

The 95-96's would normally have shims...

Yeah, the EARLY previous generation Kats had screw adjusters. Then they went to shims for some reason. I think it was in '90 or '91... Back to screw and locknuts in '98.

92-97 - shims

750 and 1100: all years have screws

That is music to my ears!!! I am going to be having to do a valve adjustment soon (Within a couple of weeks) and I didn't want to have to mess with the shims.

That would be for the Katana 1100's. I checked the fiches on the GSXRs now, seems like the 91-92 had shims (88-90 screws). Which 1100 do you have?

Mine is either a 88 or a 89 Gixxer 1100. Lets hope they are screws

Going to be working on mine this week I think... along with a bunch of other items. Pretty much a major tune up for the bike. Mines a 96 600 too.
