  • Eliminating the stock air box on my 1100 Kat

I have eliminated the air box from my 1100 kat. I have put in its place 4 individual pod style filters. Now there is a slight hesitation when throttleing quick. Do I need to re-jet the carbs or can this be fixed with the air fuel screws.

    Thanks...Mark

Normally a switch to pods requires a matching stage 3 jetkit for proper fueling. If there is already a stage 1 or stage 3 kit in there, you may be able to simply switch jetting and increase the pilot screw settings. If you're still running the stock jets & needles, either go back to the airbox or get the appropriate stage jetkit. Note that the stage 3 kit also normally requires an aftermarket exhaust to work correctly, to balance the increased air intake with increased exhaust flow.
