  • leak in exhaust colector

I ordered a ss2r full exhaust from Vance & Hines. When the shop installed it they told me there was a bad leak in the collector and recomended that I return the pipe. I did this, It took three weeks and alot of pestering to get the new hearder section. The Shop put this one on and said gues what, it has a leak to although much smaller. They said I should come donw to the shop and listen to it and decide what to do. They feel it may not be an issue but it is up top me. What should I do? How do I know if it is a problem? Please help anyone.

PS not very happy with Vance and Hines!

I honestly don't feel the issue is with Vance or Hines, LOL

Your issue is the shop, it is very rare to have two of the pipes be bad being they are new. especially if it is a stress crack from mounting, I have seen that happen.

Should I live with the leak? I just want the bike back already, will it make a difference in performance?

No, it is new and the shop should get it right, I would get the bike, take it home until they get the new pipe in then find someone else to put it on, but that is just me.

+1, there is no way you got 2 bad brand new pipes. Get the new one from V&H and take it somewhere else. Or do it yourself, it's not hard, I don't know what their problem is.

sounds like a bunch of monkeys trying to do a humans job. theres no way V&H sent u 2 bad pipes. i sugest doing it yourself. its easy and simple for the most part. unless your not good with a screw driver. and you'll know a little more about your bie and your doing the work so you know what is going on, not some shop hammering the pipes into the header with a rubber mallet.
