  • Slip on install trouble

I finally found a slip on, Yosh RS-1 oval.
Anyway, I pull the old can off, no problem, like butter.
But, when I go to put the yosh in, the collector/gasket is way too tight, and I can't get the pipe to slide in. So, I pulled the gasket out of the header, and was able to get the gasket on the slip on. but now I can't get the pipe into the collector. I'm thinking tomorrow I'll borrow a buddies exhaust pipe spreader and spread the collector out a bit so the pipe will go in.
Please share your experiences and advice.
BTW: The gasket is in perfect condition, the bike only has about 1500 miles, the new yosh, has fewer than that.

    Thanks,
    Chris

That is exactly what you need to do. When I helped a buddy put his Wileyco slip on on his 2003 Kat we had the same problem. The solution was to rent an exhaust spreader from the parts store.
