    whats the fireing order for a 1989 kat 600

    Both cylinders on each coil fire at the same time.
    So it would be 1-3 and 2-4

      Yeah , if your coils are hooked up wrong .
      Left coil goes to 1/4 , right goes to 2/3 . Cylinders rise and fall in pairs . When 1/4 are up , 2/3 are down , and vice versa .

            now if your sitting on the bike looking down at the engine the first cylinder all the way to the left (clutch lever side) would be number 1 correct?

                  Everything on the bike is referenced for the rider's position - always. So your left headlight is still on the clutch-lever side no matter where you are standing
